Realm of Kings

In the wake of several catastrophic events, the Universe is in a fragile and weakened state. With the fabric of space itself damaged, anomalous fissures are forming, fissures that are cracking and spreading, letting through things that should not exist in our dimension.
The gun-slinging Star-Lord has forged a proactive team of proven cosmic champions ready to protect the vulnerable universe and prevent any large-scale disasters from ever happening again.

In the final hours of the chaotic War of Kings, the Guardians overcame astonishing odds and prevented the evil of Adam Magus from being unleashed upon the cosmos. But this victory came at a terrible price. Team members Mantis, Major Victory, Gamora and Martyr died, along with the team's ally Cosmo, and Star-Lord was forced to kill Adam Warlock to spare him from the curse of the Magus. Reeling from these losses, and feeling far from victorious, the team is obliged to get on with the task of making the universe a safe place.
Newly joining them is Moondragon, daughter of Drax, lover of the late Martyr. A woman who has recently and mysteriously returned from the vale of Oblivion. Haunted by dreams of the team losses, Moondragon attempted to distract herself from her grief by throwing herself into her work. She discovered that the Luminals were investigating the space-time rip known as The Fault, and that the team of superbeings inadvertently brought an insidious and utterly lethal xenoform back to the neutral station of Knowhere.
Now only Moondragon stands in the way of its murderous onslaught--
